So you think you want to earn money by buying and
promoting a Classified Ad site??????
One day I decided that I wanted to earn money
by working at home, but I had no idea what type of work at home job
I wanted. After searching the internet for various work at
home programs, I finally decided that I wanted a work at home
business that would pretty much run itself, on auto-pilot.
I decided that I wanted a
Classified Advertising site, that allowed me to earn an income by
placing paid text ads, paid banner ads, paid display ads on my site.
As a second income stream I wanted to place google adsense on my
classified site.
Having a limited amount of
money to spend on getting my classified ad business up and running I
decided to find the cheapest classified site I could purchase.
I search online for days, and finally was lead to ebay, where I
keyed in Classified Advertising Site. Out of 15 or 20
results, and visiting the demo sites, and see what was offer in the
packages, I finally decided to purchase from
plconcrete(
376 )
This was a website being sold for only $19.99.
What a deal!!! It came with many extras, and rewards,
including lifetime support and a low $4.95 monthly hosting, which I
actually ended up getting my hosting for a discounted price of only
$14.95 per year, since the website seller owns the hosting company
Ankzone.com The demo site address will be
located here: __________________________ as soon as I can get
the server to respond. My actual classified site is located
below. I will try to upload a picture of what the site should
look like and a picture of what the site actually looks like to
google documents located here:
____________________________________once I can actually get either
of the servers to respond.
Hint: Send a few question to
the seller, if international. This will help you to determine if a
language barrier may keep you from being able to have a open, and
understandable line of communication.
I chose a domain name
www.esva-classifieds.com for Free and they hosted in Ankzone.com
for only $14.95 per year. My site was up in just a few days.
Yes, they had to do some adjustments, to make my google ads work,
but there customer service was superior during the process. I
was sooooo happy, I sent them a positive "I'm happy" email and I
also gave them great feedback on ebay.
Hint: Test your website
before assuming it is complete. Supply no feedback until your
website is working the way you expect it to.
After my website was up I went in to do some
testing and communicated with customer service what was working and
what was not. My main problem was getting the google ads that
were initially on the right border to work with the program.
Hint: Always visit the demo
site several times a day before purchasing in order to see if the
server is capable of bringing up your site, and not giving your
visitors a "page not found" error message. Visit, visit and
visit before purchasing
After, a few days of working on the classified
site, I was informed that a solution had been found to make my
google ads work correctly. I went to visit my site and
received a "page not found" error. this occurred quite a few times,
however I was ultimately able to get into the website.
When I went in to review the website my google ads
were now at the top left hand corner of the page, however the
classified site information was way down below, and you had to
scroll down to see what was suppose to be the top of my page.
I immediately sent a email stating that "this would definitely not
be workable" .
Hint: You can always monitor
your site and get constant updates on your website's performance by
signing up with some type of website monitoring program that will
send you alerts on your website's performance.
In an attempt to check to see if
the changes had been made I continued to check my website, and began
to get a lot of "page not found" errors. I wondered if this
was common and decided to sign up at AlertSite.com.
At Alertsite.com I began to receive constant updates on my site.
From October 12th the day I signed up to October 15, 2007 I received
close to and possibly over 100 alerts which I will paste a picture
of my scheduled alert information below.
My site was contacted 288
times and only available 165 times, with 123
errors. I received 64 alerts. See
the original alert posted here
